2. Upon acceptance of the query, submit an original draft manuscript. Acceptable articles will introduce a new technology, provide solutions for operational or managerial problems, or offer an interesting case study, for example. You may submit graphics at this time. We also encourage letters to the editor.
(Note: WWN does not pay for articles nor accept simultaneous submissions or scientific papers. Commercializing a company or product should be avoided. Commercial language will be deleted from articles.)
3. Once we have your material in hand, please make yourself available to answer the editor's questions during the editing and production phases. Correspondence will be maintained with one author only.
Now, the nuts and bolts:
• Copyright assignment: sign this form and return it.
• Article length: for columns between 1,000 and 1,500 words. Please spell out acronyms upon first reference within an article. You should provide the following information for each author: job title; professional credentials (e.g., PhD, PE); mailing address; e-mail address; work and cell phone numbers; and fax number.
• Manuscript format: Microsoft Word only. Submissions can be made by postal service mail on a CD-ROM or through e-mail. For internet security reasons, please send a query letter before submitting an article as an attachment.
• Technology issues: Please avoid the use of embedded characters, micros and/or excessive tabs within the Word document. DO NOT track changes in the submitted document.
• Graphics: All figures, tables, illustrations, and or color photographs accompanying a manuscript must be identified with detailed descriptions. These electronic images can be submitted on CD-ROM, in either PC or Macintosh formats, as long as the files are compatible with Adobe Photoshop.
E-mail images must be 300 dots per inch (dpi), CMYK, 4 inches wide and formatted as a .jpg, .tif, or .pdf. Graphs and illustrations should be in Illustrator eps format and accompanied by a hard copy. Very large files can be uploaded onto our transfer site.
Once we've completed the process, you will see your words and ideas captured in print. We appreciate any feedback regarding the process or the customer service you experienced.
